Co-founder and vice president Jon Pirl, a third-year sociology student, discusses the environmental impacts of the fashion industry, conscious consumerism and the Vespucci philosophy.

Video: UC’s largest employee union strikes

Workers throughout the University of California represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3299 went on strike from May 7 to 9. The strike, which was voted into effect with 97 percent approval among AFSCME Local 3299 members, followed disputes between the union and the UC over its contract negotiation.

Ram Kaundinya, a third-year cognitive science student, shares his experience studying Indian classical music. Learning to play the tabla, a percussion instrument, at age five was among his first musical exposures. Kaundinya, who is also a digital humanities minor, hopes to combine his interest in science and virtual reality with his passion for music.
