Men's, women's tennis fall short at ITA All-American Championships

Both men’s and women’s UCLA tennis teams had their first experience of the year representing the Blue and Gold with mixed results.

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association men’s and women’s All-American Championships were held over the last week and UCLA had a total of 11 participants in both tournaments.

The most success the Bruins experienced was in the main draw of the women’s doubles tournament.

Poor execution by Bruins leads to 43-17 loss to Golden Bears

BERKELEY, Calif. “”mdash; UCLA will have to wait two more years to try for its first win at California’s Memorial Stadium since 1998, as the Bruins fell 43-17 Saturday to the Golden Bears.

Trailing 16-7 at halftime, UCLA surrendered 13 third-quarter points and its fourth-quarter comeback fell short, handing Cal its first win over an FBS team this season.

Man dies in traffic accident south of Wilshire Boulevard

A collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle at around 7:37 p.m. Thursday caused police to temporarily close Westwood Boulevard, between Wilshire Boulevard and Wellworth Avenue.

The accident left the motorcyclist, a 19-year-old male, dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

University police said the motorcyclist was not a UCLA student.
