It’s spring quarter here at UCLA, and for some seniors, there’s a little nostalgia in the air. With their years as undergraduates coming to a close, reporter Melissa Chiong asked graduating seniors their bucket lists ““ the adventures and shenanigans they’d like to accomplish before turning their tassels in June. Today’s Long Story Short focuses on the fresh starts of spring ““ time changes, one country rebuilds after a natural disaster and seniors prepare to graduate in June.

First, we find out how all those clocks on campus get changed for daylight savings. Then we check in with a UCLA alumna about life in Japan in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami.

Also, host Andrea Wang tries out different methods of getting home safely after a late night out. We give you the rundown of the escort services offered to students by both UCLA and other groups. And we’ll finish off with the senior bucket list ““ must-do activities or shenanigans before graduation. We talk to graduating seniors about what they want to do between now and June.

Long Story Short: A safe ride back for a long night out

After a night out in North Village, the walk back home can be treacherous. The undergraduate student government and Campus Crusade for Christ both offer safe rides to members of the UCLA community on Thursday nights. Hoping to avoid a long walk back to her own apartment, “Long Story Short” co-host Andrea Wang tried both services.
