Freelance Whales lead vocalist Judah Dadone spoke with Daily Bruin A&E contributor Andrew Bain about the band’s writing process, development as a band and its upcoming performance at Coachella.

Daily Bruin: How did Freelance Whales meet?

Freshman Sam Peszek took home the beam title, scoring a 9.90 after adding a skill in her routine to boost her difficulty level. The skill Peszek added, a standing full, was one that she had performed many times during her Elite career.

CLEVELAND — The competition came down to the wire. Going into the final rotation, Alabama led the UCLA gymnastics team by a mere 0.025.

CLEVELAND — Judging by way the UCLA gymnastics team was hitting its vaults, it seemed as if the landing mat was a pillow.

Coach Valorie Kondos Field on what it will take to win the national championship:
“I don’t think a team can make a mistake and win a national championship. I think the field is too deep. It’s whoever is on and hits lights out.
