Two seven-foot book mascots paraded on Bruin Walk and greeted students on their way to the first day of class Thursday.
The two mascots, representing an expensive $200 textbook fighting against a more affordable open-source textbook, were part of “Textbook Rebellion,” an event put on by CALPIRG to address the high price of textbooks for college courses.
