University police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a UCLA student at 7 p.m. Saturday near the corner of Strathmore and Levering avenues.
A man followed a student about 50 feet down Strathmore Avenue before grabbing her by the waist, forcing her into his vehicle and sexually assaulting her, said UCPD spokeswoman Nancy Greenstein.
The police report describes the suspect as a white man between 30 and 35 years old, with short brown hair and a heavy build.

The UC Berkeley College Republicans have announced a bake sale with pastry prices determined by an individual’s race and gender.
Armed with flyers and bright neon signs emblazoned with “STOP LADOT,” a small group of Westwood residents took to the streets Sunday to protest the enforcement of the ban of apron parking, which began in late June.
Most of the participants were longtime residents of Westwood Village, but passing students also voiced their support.

CORVALLIS, Ore. — UCLA was taking the proverbial buzzsaw to Oregon State on the way to a comfortable lead, but Beaver punt returner Jordan Poyer made the Bruins pay for leaving time on the clock at the end of the half.
Poyer’s 85-yard touchdown return cut the lead to 21-10 going into the locker room.
The UCLA women’s soccer team peppered the Washington Huskies with shots all evening long but it was not until the 79th minute that the Bruins were finally able to find the back of the net.
