‘The Black Experience’ mural: past, present, future?
Recent Daily Bruin coverage has highlighted the existence of a mural obstructed by a false wall in Ackerman Student Union. The mural, titled “The Black Experience,” was painted in 1970 and depicts the seven UCLA art students who painted it as well as scenes from African-American history.

Hundreds of UCLA students converged on Bruin Plaza Wednesday afternoon to film a version of the “Harlem Shake,” a video meme that has swept YouTube in the past week.
Campout for USC basketball game
Approximately 200 students lined up outside of Pauley Pavilion Tuesday evening in hopes of landing prime seating for Wednesday’s home basketball game against USC. The students, some of whom lined up as early as Tuesday morning, secured spots on an ordered list for priority passes to be distributed by the Den at 6:30 AM Wednesday morning.
