8-clap honors Wooden on June 4, 2010
June 5, 2010 – Students organized an 8-clap at UCLA’s Ackerman Plaza at noon Friday. About 200 students attended, and then about three times as many Bruins gathered at night outside the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center for a Nation-Wide 8-clap and candle-light vigil to show their support for former UCLA Men’s Basketball Coach John Wooden and his family. UCLA baseball games attract young fans to Jackie Robinson Stadium for more than just team's success
June 3, 2010 — Baseball attracts fans of all ages; UCLA baseball has quite a few young fans with ages still in the single digits. The younger UCLA baseball fans come to home games at Jackie Robinson Stadium west of Sepulveda Boulevard with their parents for an afternoon of baseball near home. For some fans, it’s more than the Bruins’ record-breaking season which keeps them filling the stadium seats. [4:48]
Christian fraternity Alpha Gamma Omega builds community ties with free burgers
Christian fraternity members of Alpha Gamma Omega barbeque on Thursdays starting at 11:30pm. They serve burgers, hot dogs and water to local students and partygoers. The cookout is the fraternity’s effort to help them sober up as well as build positive community relationships. [3:05]
