A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has denied an injunction filed by a legal representative of UCLA water polo player Hakop Kaplanyan, keeping the student on interim suspension.

An injunction filed today against UCLA asks a judge to order the university to lift or modify the interim suspension of Hakop Kaplanyan, a men’s water polo player accused of rape last month. A hearing will be held Friday.

A UCLA student awaits a June court date after pleading not guilty last month to three felony counts in connection with an alleged assault of another student during a fraternity house party.

The lawyer for Hakop Kaplanyan, the UCLA men’s water polo player accused of rape by another student early last month, said in a statement that the university has upheld his client’s interim suspension.
