Stipend increase will not affect all UCLA USAC members

Some staff members in undergraduate student government offices will not see their pay increase this year, though their stipend caps were raised last month. In early August, members of the Undergraduate Students Association Council voted to increase their monthly stipends from $355 to $672 in a 8-1-0 vote.

UCLA Extension instructor taught importance of storytelling

Les Plesko, an instructor in the UCLA Extension Writers’ Program and a recipient of an outstanding faculty award, died Sept. 16. He was 59.

Plesko’s students said they knew him as an excellent teacher and devoted writer who used a blend of humor and honesty to encourage others to pursue writing.
