Alum's 'Direction Pieces' exhibit explores alternate perspectives through video

Creating a video of people playing a piano with another person’s head is a far cry from UCLA alumnus Tejpal Ajji’s original intention of becoming an ancient Greek art historian. When he was a second-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, Ajji started making videos in a sculpture class and got hooked on video making.

Wilco and Schubert isn’t a combination that comes to mind when considering an orchestral performance, but for the experimental and classical music ensemble wild Up, this is nothing out of the ordinary.

Founded by conductor Chris Rountree, wild Up is essentially one of the Hammer Museum’s most recent installations.
