The Los Angeles Police Department is searching for a UCLA student who was reported missing late Tuesday evening.
[UPDATED at 10 a.m.: David John Goeser, a fourth-year English student, was last seen by his roommates at about 10 a.m. on Sunday at his apartment on the 1000 block of Roebling Avenue, police said.
His parents reported him missing after not hearing from Goeser for a week and receiving a call from Goeser’s roommate Tuesday night that he had not been to his apartment in several days, said Christi Goeser, David Goeser’s mother.
When his parents arrived at the apartment, they found his phone and wallet, containing his identification and credit cards, according to an LAPD statement released Wednesday.]
David Goeser is under a doctor’s care and needs regular medication, the report stated.
At 8 p.m. Wednesday, police found the 22-year-old’s car, a 2001 white four-door Toyota Corolla, at the base of a hiking trail in the Pacific Palisades near Los Liones Drive. David Goeser is believed to be somewhere in the area.
[UPDATED at 1:30 p.m.: More than a dozen officers are in the area searching in helicopters and on foot, horseback, and dirt bikes. It is undetermined whether there was any foul play, police said.]

“We are hoping that he is safe and that he will come home,” Christi Goeser said.
UCLA administrators have also expressed concern about David Goeser’s safety and well-being, and plan to closely monitor the situation as it progresses, said Ricardo Vazquez, a university spokesman.
