Here are the highlights of Stanford coach David Shaw’s portion of the Tuesday morning Pac-12 coaches teleconference.

The weekly video blog ““ “Two Fat Guys Talkin’ Football” ““ featuring your Daily Bruin football beat writer Sam Strong and LA Daily News football beat writer Jon Gold is back for another week.

This week, the guys touch on UCLA’s 49-20 loss to Texas and preview its upcoming game against Oregon State on Saturday in Corvalis, Ore.

As they do every Tuesday morning, the Pac-12’s coaches joined media members on the weekly teleconference.

The non-conference season is behind the UCLA football team as it now prepares to start Pac-12 play Saturday against Oregon State in Corvalis, Ore.

Coach Rick Neuheisel met with reporters Monday afternoon as he does each Monday and opened by stating that his team isn’t as far along as he would like them to be as they went 1-2 in the non-conference play.

Neuheisel tried to pinpoint UCLA’s areas of concern, particularly on the defensive side of the football where the Bruins have given up have given up about 35 points per game and had serious issues making tackles upon initial contact.

For the first time since…forever, Richard Brehaut will start for UCLA at quarterback with Kevin Prince healthy as announced by coach Rick Neuheisel on his weekly Sunday evening teleconference.

Neuheisel said Brehaut “deserves to play” after he attempted to save Saturday’s game against Texas.
