UCLA students will continue to occupy sideline seats in Pauley Pavilion

Five weeks after announcing a change in student seating at the renovated Pauley Pavilion, UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero did an about-face.

In a letter e-mailed to The Den on Tuesday, Guerrero announced that students will continue to occupy a sideline section when Pauley reopens in 2012. The reversion to the plan for student seating announced in the summer of 2009 comes five days after an advisory vote on the undergraduate student government election ballot showed overwhelming opposition to the change.

UCLA football: Morrell Presley and Courtney Viney to transfer

After a month of spring ball, Morrell Presley and Courtney Viney both found themselves on the wrong end of depth chart logjams.

On Friday, both decided to leave the UCLA football program. Presley, a rising junior F-back, and Viney, a rising redshirt senior cornerback, were granted their release from the team and will transfer.

NFL draft second-round picks Akeem Ayers, Rahim Moore join Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos, respectively

In a span of six picks, two former Bruins’ decisions to go pro paid off.
