Reeves Nelson reinstated to UCLA men's basketball team

The saga of Reeves Nelson took turn for the better on Wednesday when coach Ben Howland reinstated the junior forward to the UCLA men’s basketball team.

Nelson was indefinitely suspended Monday for “conduct unbecoming of a member of the UCLA basketball team” and missed UCLA’s 86-66 blowout loss to Middle Tennessee State on Tuesday night, as well as two practices.

After meeting with Nelson, his mother and father on Monday, Howland and Nelson met one-on-one Wednesday, after which Howland decided to end his suspension.

Another sloppy performance for Bruin basketball in 86-66 loss

Middle Tennessee State’s Shawn Jones dove head-first through the UCLA bench and into the front row seats for a loose ball, letting out a “Thwack!” that echoed throughout the hollow Los Angeles Sports Arena. His teammates rushed to lend him a hand, but before they could get there, Jones bounced right back up.

UCLA falls to 0-2 after blowout loss to MTSU

UCLA will pack its bags and head to Maui a winless team.

Middle Tennessee State came to the Sports Arena and delivered the Bruins’ second straight loss to open the year Tuesday night, 86-66.

For all the size that the Bruins (0-2) boast, big and small Blue Raiders (3-0) alike were able to get in the paint at will.
