After getting his undergraduate degree in computer science at UCLA’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, Emud Mokhberi took the next logical step and went for his master’s of science in computer science. Little did he know that an animation class that he took for fun would eventually lead to a form of professional success known by many but received by a select few: an Oscar nomination.

Had it not been for the purely coincidental fact that Darius Marder shared a park bench in Brooklyn with Dan Campbell, a man who had a story to tell about treasure hunters, there is a large possibility that his film, “Loot,” would have never been made.

It is an unspoken rule in acting that if a couple portrays a romantic couple on-screen, they typically will not have any chemistry. Take the failed “Gigli,” staring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, or even “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” featuring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The actors may have been in some state of happy coupledom in real life at the time of filming, but unfortunately this didn’t translate to the screen.

It’s old news that people all over the world are suffering from the hard-hitting economic recession and constant layoffs. It is hard to spare money on extracurricular activities.

There are many unsung heroes that die too young and never get their story properly told.

When the “South Park” episode, “All About the Mormons?” aired on television, everyone Lance Black knew told him to watch the hilarious episode. But, surprisingly, the Mormon-raised Black didn’t laugh one iota.

Although Thanksgiving isn’t here yet, Christmas tree lights are already starting to brighten the streets of Los Angeles, and stores are starting to carry ornaments to decorate dorm rooms and apartments. It’s a gentle reminder that ’tis the season … to start panicking about the lack of money in your bank account.
