Richard Crudo, cinematographer behind “American Pie” and “American Buffalo,” is the latest to teach the annual Kodak Cinematographer-in-residence workshop series, which each spring brings in industry cinematographers to teach UCLA students the tricks of the trade.
Tonight, as part of the workshop series conducted by Crudo, there will be a screening of “American Buffalo,” which Crudo shot in 1996.
Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with Richard Crudo, moderated by Bill McDonald, head of cinematography at UCLA’s school of film, theater and television, where the audience will have the chance to pick Crudo’s brain about things cinematography-related, such as shooting techniques and lighting.
McDonald said he hoped people will show up and take advantage of the possibility of getting valuable advice from an acclaimed cinematographer.
