Pickles can polarize. For some, they are the bane or delight of existence, for others they fall somewhere in between. I belong to the latter category of extremes. When I heard that the Hammer Student Association was putting on an event called “The Art of Pickling,” I felt obligated to go. An art lecture and a pickling lesson after which you get to take home your own jar of pickles and marmalade? As a personal rule, I don’t turn down free food.
