North Campus Student Center opens after renovations
The newly remodeled North Campus dining area opened for business on Monday. Coupled with the projected opening of the redesigned South Campus Student Center this summer, 2011 is set out to be a big year for Associated Students UCLA’s restaurants.
Professor takes students on ‘Philosophy Walk’
Not all classes at UCLA are taught indoors.
Every week, the students in Professor Brian Walker’s “Introduction to Political Theory” honors section, dubbed “Philosophy Walk,” trek on average a mile and a half around either the campus or Westwood Village while discussing the core values of the humanist tradition.
Novel ‘Stein, Stoned’ released by UCLA lecturer
Over the weekend, Hal Ackerman was on the East Coast, traveling from bookstore to bookstore, promoting his new book,”Stein, Stoned.”
Come Monday, the UCLA lecturer was back in Rolfe Hall, teaching his eight graduate students in the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
“Pick a card, any card,” Ackerman said with a slight smile, spreading a deck of playing cards on the table before his students.
