Court approves third delay of formal reading for chemistry Professor Patrick Harran
The formal reading of felony charges in relation to the 2009 death of a UCLA staff research assistant has been postponed for a third time.
Letter to the editor: Alternative economic theory is taught at UCLA
I am writing in response to Ramsey Ugarte’s column on April 8, in which he argues that alternative economic viewpoints (especially Austrian economic philosophy) should be taught in the classroom at UCLA. As a history graduate student and a teaching assistant, I have frequently encountered “alternative economic viewpoints” in the curricula here, and in my own seminars I have tried to include discussions about different economic models.
Task force report on UC Davis pepper-spraying incident released
A 190-page report released Wednesday by a task force criticized police action at November’s pepper-spraying incident at UC Davis, stating that it “should and could have been prevented.”
The incident garnered widespread criticism of the UC’s treatment of Occupy demonstrators.
