In his Feb. 22 column “Sweatshops do more for economies,” Asad Ramzanali chides UCLA students advocating for a living wage for workers who produce apparel sold in our school store.
His logic is that sweatshops should be accepted so long as they are preferable to other options, such as prostitution or subsistence farming.
