The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.

As rising sea levels threaten their lands, Pacific Islander dancers, musicians perform to cement legacy
Oct. 10, 2011 “”mdash; Because of climate change, the central Pacific Ocean island nations of Kiribati, Tokelau and Tuvalu could lose their land within the next 100 years. A troupe of 36 dancers and musicians from these threatened island nations will embark on a tour across America to express through dance and song the ideals for which they stand. The show’s producer, Judy Mitoma, comes into the studio to talk about the group’s performance in Royce Hall this Saturday.

CicLAvia presents platform for custom bike builder
On Oct. 9, 2011, ten miles of streets in Downtown Los Angeles were shut down for CicLAvia, where bikes, joggers, and pedestrians covered the pavement. For Arturo Ramirez Perez, CicLAvia is a way to showcase his work: custom bikes, including one named “Skeletron.”
Service, medical center staff to see wage increase under new contract
The University of California and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, a union that represents more than 20,000 UC employees, today reached a contract agreement that includes wage increases for medical center staff and service staff.
