No. 9 UCLA baseball defeats crosstown rival USC, 7-2, in Dodgertown Classic

On a day that saw Major League Baseball reject two separate bids to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise from outgoing owner Frank McCourt, Dodger Stadium played host to the third installment of the Dodgertown Classic between UCLA and USC.

The Dodger drama was set aside for a few hours on Tuesday night as 6,034 Bruin and Trojan fans came together ““ albeit on different sides of the stadium ““ to watch their teams go head-to-head in one of baseball’s historic venues.

Freshman left-hander Grant Watson started for UCLA and earned the 7-2 win ““ Watson gave up one run in six innings and improved to 4-0 this year.
