I have been web-linked to my own despair. Wednesday afternoon, Twitter sent me on a journey through a labyrinth of links, only to find out information that any pop culture fanatic would be upset upon hearing.  However, I am not alone. The current victims are those devoted fans, and cult followers, of alternative rock band The White Stripes, which officially announced its breakup yesterday. Those who are familiar with the band and have heard the news may see the buzz as just another romantic makeup-and-breakup story, but on this particular occasion, the pair has disbanded in more ways than one.
