Christian fraternity members of Alpha Gamma Omega barbeque on Thursdays starting at 11:30pm. They serve burgers, hot dogs and water to local students and partygoers. The cookout is the fraternity’s effort to help them sober up as well as build positive community relationships. [3:05]

May 12, 2010 – Beauty pageants usually conjure up images of swimsuits, evening wear, big hair and a cloud of hair spray, but this year’s Mr. UCLA Pageant changes the age-old format. With comedic competitions, including the contestants’ ideal “perfect date,” and talent demonstrations, the Mu Alpha Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. hopes to bring laughs as well as promote its goal of focusing on education and community empowerment. UCLA student’s death renews friend’s love for music, life
Like many fourth-year students at UCLA, William Lam is wondering what he’ll do with his future. Though still unsure, he’s finding renewed meaning in his life following the unexpected death of his good friend, Sasan Ahoraian, a third-year physiological science student at UCLA, in December. Lam discusses his current plans to record a music album and his change of heart since the tragedy.
Two years later: UCLA feels the effects of The Green Initiative Fund
Almost two years after a referendum passed to form The Green Initiative Fund, or TGIF, committee members, students, and the senior press secretary from the Natural Resources Defense Council weigh in on the fund’s current projects. As TGIF continues to expand its visibility on campus, focus continues to be on UCLA’s environmental impact and ways students can get funding to minimize the school’s carbon footprint.
