No. 3 UCLA women's water polo team beats top-ranked Stanford for UCI Invitational title

The UCLA women’s water polo team definitely has reason to celebrate this weekend.
Not only did the team survive a full weekend of games, as they played a total of four games over two days at the UC Irvine Invitational, but they accomplished the task of beating the top-ranked team in the country by defeating Stanford 5-4 in the championship game of the tournament.
The Bruins had their work cut out for them as they faced four teams all ranked in the top 20.

Younger members of UCLA women's water polo team step up to the challenge of collegiate play

As the women’s water polo season opened up last week in Michigan it proved to be an opportunity for the inexperienced members of the team to get some playing time and step up to the challenge of the collegiate play. The inexperience of the team, though, proved not to be an issue as the No. 3 Bruins went 3-0 at the Michigan Invitational, scoring 29 goals over three games.

Student Tim White seeks spot in Pangaea Expedition, which combines adventure, environmentalism

During his second year, Tim White, a fourth-year marine biology student and captain of the UCLA club lacrosse team, spent five weeks participating in research focusing on coral reef ecology at a field station in Moorea, French Polynesia.
