CRIME WATCH 0 Vehicles stolen $11,806 Grand
theft $1,272 Petty theft
Petty theft Two parking permits, six cellular
phones, and three bags were taken this past period, amounting to a
total loss of $597. Police received a report that someone stole a
$280 bicycle from an apartment complex on Strathmore Drive early
Wednesday night. A stereo and access card were stolen from a 1994
Mazda LX in Lot 11 Wednesday afternoon. The amount lost was $250.
Someone stole a $45 bicycle seat from the Engineering IV building
the afternoon of Nov. 21.
Grand theft Someone stole a $634 amplifier from
a blue 1990 Honda Accord parked on the 900 block of Weyburn Avenue
on Wednesday afternoon. That same afternoon, someone stole a $1,500
bicycle from a garage on the 3000 block of Keystone Avenue. Someone
stole a generator from a white 2000 Toyota Tacoma parked on the 600
block of Kelton Avenue the afternoon of Nov. 21. The total loss was
$2,400. Someone stole two-way radios from the James West Alumni
Center on Nov. 21. The amount lost was $1,152. Someone stole a
$2,100 laptop from the MacDonald Medical Research Lab the morning
of Nov. 21.
Miscellaneous Police received a report Sunday
morning of someone stealing plants from the Botanical Gardens.
Someone spray painted “USC” in the quad next to the
Men’s Gym on Wednesday . Police responded to a report of two
men fighting on the 400 block of Veteran Avenue early Wednesday
morning. A man was loitering just inside the east entrance of the
Geology building Wednesday morning. Two men attempted to steal a
white 1997 Dodge truck at the north side construction area of Royce
Hall on Wednesday morning. Seven men were fighting at a Shell Gas
Station parking lot the night of Nov. 21. Police received a report
of shots fired at Centinela and Culver Avenues on the night of Nov.
21. A vehicle hit a brown 1999 Toyota Corolla at Lot 2 the night of
Nov. 21 and left the scene before being identified.
