The Daily Bruin won a Pacemaker ““ widely considered the most prestigious award in college journalism ““ for best feature magazine and two other awards at an annual national college media convention.
The Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Advisers convention, held in Chicago this weekend, marked the first time that prime, the Daily Bruin’s quarterly magazine, won the Pacemaker.
The Daily Bruin website won a Best of Show award. Only conference attendees can enter for these awards.
Enid Zhou and James Barragan placed fourth for Multimedia Sports Story for a video about midnight soccer.Â
The Daily Bruin was a finalist for best four-year daily college newspaper. The Daily Bruin website was also a finalist among schools with an enrollment of more than 20,000.Â
The Daily Bruin also received several honorable mention recognitions in the following categories ““ Sports Story, Staff Editorial, Page One Design and Cartooning.Â
