Second quake in a week shakes UCLA, surrounding areas early Friday morning

A 3.5 magnitude earthquake shook UCLA and surrounding areas early Friday morning.

The quake – the second centered in Beverly Hills this week – occurred around 12:03 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

University police did not receive any preliminary reports of injuries or damage from the quake, officials said. The Los Angeles Fire Department went into “Earthquake Emergency Mode” shortly after the quake, where firefighters and helicopters survey the city for any signs of significant damage, according to LAFD’s blog.
