Top high school prospect Shabazz Muhammad said in a televised announcement Wednesday evening that he will join the UCLA men’s basketball team. Muhammad is ranked the No. 1 prospect by recruiting website Rivals.com and No. 2 by Scout.com and ESPN.
Muhammad joins Kyle Anderson of New Jersey, a consensus top-five recruit, and Jordan Adams of Georgia in the Bruins’ 2012 recruiting class. Adams is the first UCLA commit from high school basketball powerhouse Oak Hill Academy.
Muhammad’s commitment gives UCLA the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation behind Pac-12 rival Arizona, according to ESPN’s Dave Telep.
