SALT LAKE CITY “”mdash; It took a half, but there was no question who felt more comfortable in the cold confines of Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday.

UCLA couldn’t get much going in snow and near-freezing temperatures, falling to Utah 31-6. It ended the Bruins’ two-game winning streak and continued their string of dissapointing road losses.

UCLA held Utah to just 74 yards at the half, only to see the Utes promptly drive the ball 74 yards down the field to open the second half and extend their lead to 14-3, and it was easy sledding from there for the Utes.

The Bruins’ offense was stymied by penalties ““ 12 for 91 yards ““ and two second-half Kevin Prince interceptions, the second of which was returned for a touchdown that made it 28-6.

Utah running back John White IV rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 13 receving yards and one touchdown.
