Sam Strong, one of the Daily Bruin’s UCLA football beat writers, and Jon Gold of the LA Daily News have started a series of video blogs that will recap the prior week’s game and preview the upcoming week.
This week, the guys talk about an underwhelming 27-17 win over San Jose State and preview the team’s upcoming matchup with Texas at the Rose Bowl.
UCLA will be looking for its second win against Texas in as many years as they were able to dispose of the Longhorns last year in Austin, 34-12. Both teams’ quarterback situations are relative unknowns. It’s not out of the question that the game could see four or five different quarterbacks take snaps. UCLA will look to either Kevin Prince or Richard Brehaut while Texas will rely on Case McCoy and David Ash. Former starter Garrett Gilbert is listed at No. 3 on the Texas depth chart.
