PALO ALTO – Hot shooting helped propel the Bruins to an early lead, and it helped them extend that lead back to seven at halftime.
UCLA shot six-of-11 from beyond the arc in the first half; sophomore Tyler Honeycutt went three-for-five and leads all scorers with 13 points. UCLA is shooting over 52% from the field and is 8-10 from the free-throw line. The Bruins’ offensive efficiency has been matched only by their turnover proficiency: 12 UCLA turnovers have allowed Stanford to stay in the game via easy buckets. Anthony Brown leads the Cardinal with 10 points.
Stanford star Jeremy Green was hounded by UCLA’s Malcolm Lee whenever he was on the floor; Green finished the half with six points, but turned the ball over six times and looked shaky with the basketball early in the game.
