UCLA-Washington, Second Quarter

A crazy start to the second quarter. First, another Kevin Craft pass is tipped and intercepted by Washington State. Then Washington quarterback Ronnie Fouch fumbles, and UCLA recovers. Now the Bruins are threatening to score and take a 14-7 lead.

An impressive, second effort touchdown by Kahlil Bell. It seems like the Bruin offensive front is finally opening some holes for the team’s tailbacks. UCLA now leads, 14-7.

None of Kevin Craft’s six passes has hit the ground= four were caught by UCLA players, the other two were tipped and intercepted.

Still no completed passes for Washington quarterback Ronnie Fouch.

UCLA defensive end Korey Bosworth has had an excellent first half. The Washington offensive front struggled at first to stop defensive tackles Brian Price and Brigham Harwell, but now it’s Bosworth getting all the pressure.

On a gamble, Washington falls short. Brian Price sacks Husky quarterback Ronnie Fouch for a 12 yard loss on fourth down and three.

Another big catch for Nelson Rosario, and the Bruins have all the momentum. A score here would put the Huskies in a hole that they (probably) cannot climb out of.

Kevin Craft is slammed by Washington’s Johnie Kierton and loses the football. Officials ruled that Craft was down on the play.

UCLA’s Kai Forbath hits a 49-yard field goal, and reminds everyone that he has a very, very strong leg. UCLA’s offense has not put Forbath in position to hit many field goals this season, but he hit a big one there to put UCLA up 17-17.

ROnnie Fouch completes the first meaningful pass of his night, a 13-yard pass to Devin Aguilar for a first down to move Washington into UCLA’s half of the field.

Fouch tries to go deep to D’Andre Goodwin, but overthrows his receiver and UCLA’s Rahim Moore comes up with a huge interception.

This could be UCLA’s first half without a punt. We’ll see.

Never mind, Washington stopped UCLA and used two timeouts to force the Bruins to punt.

UCLA linebacker Reggie Carter just handed his hand warmer to the umpire after it fell off. The umpire grabbed it and shoved it into the back of his pants. I don’t know if there’s any explanation for that.
