The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.

“¢bull; Contingency allocations were approved unanimously.
“¢bull; The council discussed the possibility of including a referendum in the spring USAC election ballot that would ask students to vote on a $3 fee increase to provide more funding for student programming in future years. The council also discussed the possibility of a referendum that would provide specific funding for Bruin Bash. This would free up the funds used for Bruin Bash for use by other student groups.
“¢bull; The council tabled voting on the Resolution Condemning Hate Crimes and Promoting Diversity as a response to last week’s hate crimes until next week.
“¢bull; Several members of MEChA de UCLA and the Latin American Student Association urged councilmembers to support the Resolution Condemning Hate Crimes and Promoting Diversity in response to recent hate crimes in the community.
“¢bull; CALPIRG representatives spoke about Oceans Week and asked the council to sign a resolution to endorse their efforts to ban plastic bags in California.

“¢bull; President Emily Resnick said her office’s campus climate committee is working with Christine Mata, assistant dean of campus climate, on hate crime issues that arose last week. Her office will hold a town hall meeting today at 8:30 p.m in the Plaza View Conference Room in the John Wooden Center to discuss the issue.
“¢bull; Kristina Sidrak, internal vice president, said there will be a public constitutional review committee meeting next Wednesday to review USAC bylaws and its election code.
“¢bull; Joelle Gamble, external vice president, said UCLA students who attended the University of California Students’ Association 10th annual UC Student Lobby Conference in Sacramento last weekend voted against legislation limiting the amount of money awarded by California Cal Grants and in favor of legislation for the California Middle Class Scholarship Act.
“¢bull; Raquel Saxe, academic affairs commissioner, was not present at the meeting but sent a delegate from her office in her place.

“¢bull; The Associated Students of UCLA Board of Directors presented to the council about future projects, including a remodeling of the ASUCLA website and licensing the UCLA brand overseas.
“¢bull; Roman Nguyen, USAC budget review director, recommended that the council pursue a referendum during spring elections to address the funding needs of the student body.
