UCLA will offer three online courses starting spring quarter. This week we asked, would you take an online class?
Monica Manrique
Third-year, biology
“Well, there are only three (courses) offered, so not yet. But honestly, I like lectures (and) sitting in class. I feel like I pay so much more attention, and if not in class I would procrastinate like crazy.”
Julia Rames
First-year, design | media arts
“If it gets me through classes faster, then yes. For GEs, I’d be more willing, but because I’m in design media, I feel like I couldn’t. My classes are too interactive.”
Eric Debbold
Fourth-year, microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics
“I’m graduating but if I was staying for a GE I would. But for core classes I would not.”
Jerry Ciolino
Second-year, sociology
“If I needed to I would. It’s not my first choice though. I would for a GE instead of a core class.”
Andrea Panayides
Fourth-year, political science
“I was actually signed up for one but a class that I preferred opened up. I’m not categorically opposed. I’ve never taken one so I don’t know.”
