What is USAC? Besides a four-letter organization among the sea of 900 UCLA student groups at UCLA, how does USAC play an impactful role? A personal note to all Bruins, the Undergraduate Students Association Council is the guiding force to your experience at UCLA ““ it’s just that you may not have known it.
With 13 members and offices located on the third and fourth floors of Kerckhoff Hall, USAC has hardworking student leaders who are managing a massive school budget and representing you as UCLA’s very own elected student government.
Some of you may have been involved in the Associated Student Body in high school, some of you in community service organizations, and some of you in leadership roles. USAC can serve every goal you hope you accomplish during your short time at UCLA. Among the president, internal vice president, and external vice president, you can find the executive members of student government that guide you through campus collaboration as well as student group and political endeavors through representation to UCLA administration. If you want something to be accomplished through these leaders, your options are limitless.
If you wish to be involved in student health, community service or campus concerts and events, the community service commissioner, student welfare commissioner and the campus events commissioner are always welcoming students who want to make the best of their UCLA campus experience and integrate all interests within a diverse student body.
Want more options? The academic affairs commissioner, cultural affairs commissioner, financial supports commissioner and facilities commissioner all represent the different modes of UCLA’s missions: academia, diversity through cultural experiences, affordable and accessible education and sustainable endeavors. Venturing through their offices can lead to impactful differences in the UCLA community, something that is capable purely through your elected officials.
And if you’re looking for your own niche on campus and aren’t sure what classification your goals would fall under, USAC has three elected officials called general representatives who each represent a different sphere of campus. You can be a part of each of their teams and empower your student leadership at UCLA; your experience is completely up to you. USAC is here to make it happen.
