Dragovic and Roll in NBA Summer League

Former Bruins Michael Roll and Nikola Dragovic secured roster spots on NBA teams for the 2010 Summer League. Roll, a guard on the Toronto Raptors, is averaging 6.3 points per game after three games. Dragovic is a forward on the New Orleans Hornets averaging three points per game after three games.

Wooden Classic to carry on

This December, UCLA’s men’s basketball team will take part in the 17th annual John R. Wooden classic, which will continue after the passing of the late basketball coach. UCLA will face off against BYU, while St. Mary’s will take on Long Beach State on Dec. 18.

The Bruins begin their regular season with a home game against Cal State Northridge on Nov. 12. The non-conference schedule also includes the NIT Season Tip-Off West Regional and a trip to Kansas to face the Jayhawks.

Langenfeld loses at ESPY

Former UCLA softball player Megan Langenfeld, who led the Bruins to an NCAA championship last season, represented UCLA at the 2010 ESPY Awards on Wednesday.

Langenfeld was nominated for Best Female Collegiate Athlete, but lost to University of Connecticut basketball player Maya Moore.
