The mass exodus continues, as two more players from the UCLA
football team have left the program.
Fullback J.D. Groves said Monday he would not be returning to
the program, reportedly due to a change in major that UCLA does not
offer and not with any coaching conflicts.
“The problem was with me really,” Groves said.
“I’m not playing ball anymore.”
According to the UCLA Athletic Department, Groves has yet to ask
for a release from his scholarship.
Though Groves saw a significant decrease in playing time this
season, the sophomore said coaching issues were not a problem nor a
reason for his departure.
Meanwhile, offensive lineman Alex Potasi was officially let go
and will not be returning to the team, after being suspended for
breaking a team rule.
