Supporting the apron parking ban

As a long-time bicyclist living in the North Village, I’ve taken to the sidewalks because I don’t feel safe riding in the cramped streets. Poorly apron-parked cars not only constrict an already narrow road, they make sidewalk travel much more difficult. I can’t even imagine how aggravating it must be for those who are wheelchair-bound to maneuver pinched sidewalks daily. Getting around by bike may not be as fast as by car, but such a trade-off, along with the ban on apron parking would ease the congestion considerably. There are neither exorbitant parking fees nor gas stops, and one can get some exercise tackling those hills. For those who make frequent, short trips, a good used bike averages under $100.
