MRI results revealed that UCLA junior guard Arron Afflalo has a
left foot stress reaction, according to coach Ben Howland. Howland
said Wednesday that Afflalo has been having pain in his left foot
recently.
Afflalo, the Bruins’ leading scorer from last season, is
currently wearing a walking boot. Typically, an injury of this type
takes six to eight weeks for recovery.
The Bruins are confident that the first team All Pac-10
selection will rebound.
“Arron will do everything necessary to rehab and protect
(his left foot),” Howland said. “He is being treated
and monitored by our sports medicine staff and we expect a full
recovery.”
As co-captain this past season, Afflalo started 38 of 39 games
for UCLA, not starting only on Senior Day, and finished 34 of those
games scoring in double digits. He had a 15.8 scoring average, and
also pulled down 4.2 rebounds per game as he helped lead UCLA to
the national title game last season.
