Continuing on his path of improvement, sprinter Craig Everhart
dominated the 400-meter dash last weekend at the Mt. Sac Relays in
Walnut. With a winning time of 45.52 seconds, Everhart, the only
collegiate athlete in the event, beat out a field of professional
athletes by over a second. Everhart’s time was not only a new
personal record, but it also placed him ninth in UCLA history. This
is the third straight successful meet for Everhart. Two weeks ago
at the Texas relays, he ran the first leg of the winning 4x400m
relay team, completing the sprint in 45.30 seconds. Then, in last
weekend’s Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational at
Drake Stadium, Everhart set another new personal record of 20.76 in
the 200m.
