Petty Theft
A stroller worth $70 was stolen from 3340 Sawtelle Avenue on May
18.
A $70 DVD player was stolen from an apartment on Ophir Avenue
between May 17 and May 18.
Grand Theft
A black 1998 Ford Explorer was stolen near the Bradley Center
between May 19 and May 20.
A black 1994 Ford Explorer was stolen from near Murphy Hall on
May 19.
The rear window of a 1997 burgundy Nissan Sentra at 3777 Mentone
Avenue was broken between May 18 and May 19, and $700 worth of
valuables, including a car stereo were stolen. Someone broke the
passenger-side window of a car and stole a radio faceplate worth
$350 during the same time period near the same location.
The window of a 1995 burgundy Nissan Sentra at 3767 Mentone
Avenue was broken and $900 worth of valuables were stolen between
May 18 and May 19. During the same time period near the same
location, $400 worth of valuables were also stolen from a white
1999 Honda Civic. Also, a cell phone worth $225 was stolen from a
green 1996 Mazda Miata also parked in the same area during the same
time.
A $2,000 Toshiba laptop was stolen from a room in Sproul Hall on
May 18.
A 1989 blue and white Harley-Davidson motorcycle was stolen from
Lot E on May 17.
A 2000 blue Honda Civic was stolen from the Sunset Village lot
between May 16 and May 19.
Six toilets and 50 angle stop valves worth a total of $1,656
were stolen from the Tiverton House between April 26 and May
19.
Miscellaneous
People were stopped at 626 Landfair Avenue on May 21 after
reportedly throwing bricks at a wall.
The Strathmore Building Mail & Document Services received a
letter with the words “conspiracy” and
“poison” on May 19. The envelope and papers were
collected by police.
It was reported that someone had a gun near the corner of
Westwood and Olympic Boulevards on May 19.
It was reported that someone was attacked and her backpack and
money were stolen at the Strathmore Avenue underpass on May 14.
