“Brazilian Carnaval 2002,” an official program with
the Los Angeles GRAMMY Fest, can be celebrated at the Hollywood
Palladium in Los Angeles this Saturday, the same day that Rio de
Janeiro begins its four-day carnaval celebration. From 8 p.m. to 2
a.m. revelers can dance non-stop to the Badaue Band and marvel at

Theater
A rendition of “José Gregorio,” written by
Patricia Cardoso, a 2002 Sundance Film Festival award winner, will
be presented in a workshop production this Friday and Saturday at 8
p.m. by The Group at Strasberg and producer David Lee Strasberg at
the Marilyn Monroe Theater in West Hollywood. The production, about
a deceased Venezuelan doctor training for his sainthood, is part of
an ongoing Centennial Celebration of the life of legendary Lee

In honor of Black History Month, the Souther California Library
for Social Studies and research will be presenting “Malcolm
X: Reminiscences of a Revolutionary.” The play is written and
directed by Frank G. Greenwood. The show will take place at the

The UCLA Hammer Museum opens an exhibit this Saturday that
showcases drawings, photographs and sculptures by Scottish artist

MTV’s “The Real World,” and “Road
Rules” will be hosting an open casting call at
Madison’s on Saturday, Feb. 9. The event will take place at
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will be accepting applicants between the
ages of 18 and 24. Madison’s is located on 1037 Broxton Ave.

Film
On Sunday, Feb. 10, there will be a Valentine’s
“Film Fatale” showcase beginning with live music and
industry networking, followed by three queer dyke short films and
three otherworldly live art pieces. The show takes place at

The 10th Annual Pan African Film & Arts Festival, which
