A missing UC Berkeley graduate student may be in Westwood, according to a university police crime report released yesterday afternoon.
Qianhe “Maggie” Zhang was reported missing by her roommates on March 10, after she had not contacted her roommates or family in China in a month.
“We received a bulletin that (Zhang) might be visiting a friend in Westwood,” said Nancy Greenstein, director of police community services.
“It’s not for sure that she might be visiting here, but we’re aiding another agency in finding the missing student.”
According to the report, the 24-year-old international student from China may be suffering from psychological issues and may need a medical health evaluation.
Greenstein said that Zhang presented no danger to the student population.
Any questions about this case should be directed to Detective Corporal Susan Garman from the El Cerrito Police Department. She can be reached at 510-215-4418.
