Petty Theft
A suspect allegedly stole $30 from someone’s purse on Nov.
18 at the Neuropsychiatric Institute. The alleged victim confronted
the suspect, who returned the money.
Someone stole a $120 men’s mountain bike secured near the
Wooden Center on Nov. 17.
Grand Theft
Someone stole a $3,000 laptop from the Life Sciences building
sometime between Nov. 18 and Nov. 19.
Someone reported stolen on Nov. 18 an Acuson vascular doppler
probe. The probe taken from the UCLA Santa Monica Hospital was
worth $15,000.
Someone removed the screen on a window in the Hitch Residential
Suites and stole a $2,500 laptop on Nov. 17.
Miscellaneous
A black Honda stolen near the intersection of Veteran and
Strathmore Avenues between Nov. 15 and Nov. 16 was located on Nov.
20 by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton
division.
Someone who was grabbing women and yelling at them in a Center
for Health Sciences women’s bathroom was escorted from the
area on Nov. 19.
Police advised someone near Powell Library against harassing
women after the subject reportedly looked up a woman’s skirt
on Nov. 18.
Someone refused to leave Night Powell during the early morning
hours of Nov. 18. The subject left after being notified about the
library’s night rules and being advised against disturbing
the peace.
A child was heard on Nov. 17 on a 911 call saying “I need
help.” Several seconds later, the sound of two children
laughing and talking to each other about pressing the 911 call box
to say “I need help” was heard.
