Petty Theft A purse was stolen from the
Kerckhoff Hall Coffee House on Jan. 22. The purse was later
recovered from a nearby dumpster. $40 cash had been removed.
A hubcap of unknown value was stolen from someone’s
vehicle in Lot 3 on Jan. 22.
Grand Theft A black 1991 Honda Civic was stolen from a parking
structure near the Center for Health Sciences between Jan. 21 and
Jan. 22 The stolen car was later recovered by police.
A purse with valuables totaling $600 was stolen from the
Macgowan vending area on Jan. 21.
Over $2,400 worth of laptops were stolen from room 174 in Sproul
Hall sometime before Jan. 17. Another laptop of unknown value was
stolen from room 175 in Sproul Hall between Jan. 20 and Jan.
21.
Miscellaneous Two people got into a fight on
the Wooden Center basketball courts on Jan. 22. One of the people
involved in the fight wanted a police report filed.
Someone was reported as holding a large black rifle on the
corner of Gayley Avenue and Kinross Avenue on Jan. 22. Police
investigated the report but found the person to be holding an
automotive jack. Police advised the individual to hold the
instrument differently.
A stereo was stolen from a 1991 Toyota Camry parked in Lot 2 on
Jan. 21.
A subject harassing people at the Bruin Democrats meeting on
Jan. 21 had to be escorted away from the meeting by police.
Someone transferred funds to their credit card by stealing
someone’s checking account information. The thief then made
credit card purchases between Jan. 3 and Jan. 20.
A naked person was discovered trying to open fifth-floor doors
in Dykstra Hall on Jan. 16.
