“¢bull; On April 13, President Cinthia Flores’ office will hold a social justice job fair in conjunction with UCLA Labor and Workplace Studies and the Community Programs Office.
“¢bull; The President’s office will also collaborate with CALPIRG to hold a dodgeball tournament the first week of spring quarter to benefit Haiti earthquake victims. Applications for teams are currently available through the CALPIRG Web site.
“¢bull; Internal Vice President Shahida Bawa is working to hold panels and discussions next quarter regarding racial issues across UC campuses.
“¢bull; Academic Affairs Commissioner Layhannara Tep held a writing event on March 10 in which students learned to improve their writing skills and interacted with tutors one-on-one.
“¢bull; General Representative Jason Tengco, along with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, will be holding a clothing drive, “Out of the Closet,” on all floors in Dykstra Hall on Wednesday.
Special Presentations“¢bull; UCLA Transportation representatives Lisa Koerbling and Renee Fortier evaluated on-campus and off-campus transportation and parking during winter quarter. In the last quarter, Transportation has successfully reduced parking demand through employee and student carpool, the campus shuttle, and on-campus housing. Later in March, Transportation will consult the campus on a potential parking services fee raise from the current $63 to $65 to be implemented next January.
