The stretch without an injury for the men’s basketball team is officially at an end.

Sophomore center J’mison Morgan, who had seen a recent upswing in minutes following the departure of Drew Gordon, sustained a partially torn quadriceps in his right leg during Tuesday’s practice.

At this point, Morgan is slated to miss two to three weeks, which will keep him out of this Saturday’s game against USC and next weekend’s games against Washington and Washington State, at the minimum.

Morgan has averaged two points per game in limited action this season. In the Bruins’ most recent road trip to the Bay Area, Morgan played a combined total of nine minutes in the two games and scored two points in each game.

With Morgan out for the next weeks, more playing time will most likely be allocated to freshman Brendan Lane, who has appeared in 15 of the team’s 16 games and whose average of eight minutes per game could increase.
