I’m afraid this graph is incomplete and inaccurate.
First, what is the unit of measurement for “respect” and what is the scale for “number of things known”?
The reader is left to assume that “number of things known” starts at zero and increases by one at each mark. If this is the case why does respect peak at zero things known, including the historical figure’s name or the fact that the person is a historical figure? Furthermore, why does respect reach zero once roughly 6.5 things are known? What is that one-half thing that pushes respect to zero? What is it about the third and fourth things known that cause such a drastic decrease? Why is it that no things lead to an increase in respect? Knowledge of Mother Teresa’s various charitable acts would certainly lead to an increase despite one’s knowledge that she was also a Jugalette.
Overall, this graph needs some serious revision. Doesn’t the Daily Bruin have any copy editors to check for accuracy?!!?!?! Also, those arrows are redundant.
